MozPay collects international card payments on your lodge's behalf and pays metical into your bank each week, with a statement for every payout. Roughly 8% all-in, instead of the 11% most Mozambican lodges pay today.
MozPay Ltd, registered in England & Wales (no. 17341686). Guests pay on a secure hosted card page. Card details never touch our systems.
Vilanculos Beach Lodge, Inhambane Province. The coast MozPay was built for, where weekly settlement matters more than anywhere.
International card money reaches Mozambican lodges through acquiring fees and a currency conversion you never see priced. Here is where the money goes today, and where it goes with MozPay.

The guest pays $1,000. Your bank receives MZN 58,420, and the statement shows how. One all-in fee per booking, agreed before you sign; no setup fee and nothing else deducted. Figures are indicative and confirmed in each lodge's services agreement. The incumbent column reflects what lodges on this coast report paying: roughly 3% acquiring plus an estimated 8% conversion spread, about 11% combined. Your numbers may differ; send us a recent statement and we will redo this table with your figures.
Four steps, once a week. You can see all of it on your statement.
Checkout happens on a secure hosted payment page in USD. Card details go to the payment processor, not to MozPay and not to your lodge, so neither of us ever handles card numbers.
WHERE THE MONEY ISWith the card acquirer, clearing.
As your appointed collecting agent, MozPay receives the proceeds. From that moment the guest's booking is paid in full, and every movement is recorded in our ledger against your lodge.
WHERE THE MONEY ISHeld by MozPay for your lodge, itemised per booking.
Each week we batch your bookings and convert USD to MZN through a licensed foreign-exchange partner. Batching the volume is what gets a better rate than converting booking by booking.
WHERE THE MONEY ISWith the FX partner, converting at a rate you will see.
The payout lands with a statement listing every booking, the fee, the exact rate applied and the net amount. Refunds and chargebacks from the week are netted and itemised on the same page.
WHERE THE MONEY ISIn your lodge's MZN account.
Most lodges do not have a finance department. MozPay is built to be the part of one that deals with payments, so the office manager gets evenings back.
Every booking, the payout schedule and each weekly statement in one place.
We answer card disputes on your behalf, with the booking evidence, inside the schemes' deadlines.
Deposits collected before arrival, balances invoiced and chased, so no-shows stop costing you the room.
Acquirer, ledger and payout reconciled three ways every week. If a cent moves, it has a line.

A payments company should be easy to verify. Here is exactly what MozPay is, and what it is not.
MozPay Ltd, a private company registered in England & Wales, no. 17341686. Registered office: 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom.
We act as each lodge's appointed collecting agent. We are not a bank and we do not take deposits or lend. The full arrangement is written out in our Terms & Conditions.
Every lodge we onboard goes through KYC, sanctions and politically-exposed-person screening before a single payment is collected, and card details never pass through our systems.
We publish our fees before you sign, print the FX rate on every statement, and put our company number in the footer of every page. If you want to check us, start at Companies House.
Everything between the guest's card and your bank: card acquiring, conversion to metical through a licensed foreign-exchange partner, weekly settlement, and the statement and reconciliation that come with it. One fee per booking, agreed in your services agreement before you sign. There is no setup fee. The figure is indicative until confirmed for your lodge.
Weekly. We batch the week's bookings, convert once, and pay your MZN account with a statement per payout, targeting Friday. Timing can shift with bank hours, public holidays or a compliance check, and if it shifts, you can see why on the statement.
No. They pay by card in USD on a secure hosted payment page, the same way they book anything else. Card details go to the payment processor directly, so neither your lodge nor MozPay ever sees or stores card numbers.
Your cancellation terms are shown to the guest at checkout. When you approve a refund, we return it to the original card and net it against your next weekly payout, itemised. If a guest disputes a charge, we answer it on your behalf with the booking evidence, inside the card schemes' deadlines. The detail is in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
No. MozPay Ltd is a UK-registered company (England & Wales, no. 17341686) that acts as your appointed collecting agent: we collect card payments on your behalf and settle them to you. We do not take deposits or lend, and currency conversion is carried out by a licensed foreign-exchange partner. The arrangement is set out in our Terms & Conditions, governed by the law of England and Wales.
Company and ownership documents for KYC, sanctions and PEP screening, your MZN bank details, and your booking cancellation terms so we can show them at checkout. Onboarding is a conversation plus paperwork. We take on a limited number of lodges at a time, so every setup gets proper attention.
MozPay was built after watching lodges on this coast hand over a tenth of every international booking to card fees and a conversion rate nobody would show them. The fix is not complicated. Collect the payment properly, convert once a week at a rate printed on the statement, and pay out every Friday with a document you can check line by line. That is the whole product.
MozPay runs one corridor and runs it properly: international cards in, metical out, every week, reconciled to the cent. And when you write to us, you reach the people who run the corridor, not a ticket queue. Send a recent settlement statement and we will work through your numbers with you, line by line.
Onboarding starts with a conversation and a worked example built from your numbers. We take on a limited number of lodges each quarter, so every setup is done properly.
